How about horseback riding?

Once again the University of Connecticut's Animal Science Department will be offering its popular Summer Riding Program to the public. Please note that Dressage, Hunt Seat, Polo, Western riding lessons and Trail Riding are open to adults and children who meet the minimum age requirements.  Please see the information and forms below.

Online Payment Information

The Animal Science Department is now accepting credit and debit cards for payment for our summer riding program!

Pay online using the UConn Payment Store.

Once payment is made you must complete both the registration form and Acknowledgement/Consent form and return to the appropriate instructor. Forms for hunt seat, dressage or western should be emailed to Alena.Meacham@uconn.edu, forms for trail should be emailed to Jenifer.Nadeau@uconn.edu and forms for polo should be returned to Jennifer.Szela@uconn.edu.

Participants must be 11 years of age or older or at the 6th grade level in the fall of 2018

All Levels: Beginners through Advanced

Polo Lessons

    Participants must be 11 years of age or older and comfortable riding at
the walk, trot and canter.
All Levels: Introductory through Advanced

Trail Riding

Participants must be at least 13 years of age

Open to Intermediate through Advanced Riders

Rider may choose to ride English or Western style

Ride the UConn Trail System and practice trail riding - including how to follow markings!
